Shanghai offers a setting where acupuncture is practiced alongside clinical education and research. Yueyang Hospital became a clinical training base for the International Acupuncture Training Center in December 1996. A university profile published in 2020 reported that the base received more than 100 overseas trainees and visiting scholars annually across acupuncture and tuina.
